Solstice Love
Happy Summer Solstice to all Star Brothers and “Sistars” in the Northern Hemisphere and Happy Winter Solstice to all of my loves in the Southern Hemisphere!

For those who want the information:
This chart shows our globe:
The path that says “June 21” is called “The Tropic of Cancer.”
The path that says “Dec 21” is called “The Tropic of Capricorn.”
Note solstice points are exactly 6 months apart
Note Cancer and Capricorn are 180º degrees from each other (They are opposites, often called an “opposition” in natal charts.)
The line in the middle that says “Mar. 21” & Sept. 21 is The Equator (The imaginary line running east-west that divides the earth in half.) The equator is the zero “0” line, that is perpendicular to the line at the 90º degree angle that runs up (north), or down degrees South to a 90º angle.

As our earth tilts AWAY from the sun (north), the sun itself appears to rise higher in the sky until it reaches that “June 21” line. At this apex point, the earth is titled at 23.5 degrees North.
These are the three longest days we have and the shortest nights.
After the solstice passes, the sun will reach a lower maximum point each day until the Equinox on September 21.
This is when the earth is NOT TILTED North or South.
At this point the Sun is over the Tropical EQUATOR.
This is when we enjoy days that are of equal length to nights.
After this point, nights become longer than days until we reach the day of “Dec. 21.” This is the Tropic of Capricorn.
The Tropic of Capricorn is when the Zodiac sign Capricorn begins along with the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice for the Southern Hemisphere.

At this point the earth is pointed -23.5 toward the south pole, and the earth is actually closer to the sun. (Hello hotter weather in the Southern Hemisphere.)
The Sun stays at this low point for THREE DAYS, and then begins to rise higher in the sky each day until we reach the equator again. Except on this leg of the journey, once we pass this TROPICAL line we are on our way back NORTH towards the Tropic of Cancer.

The study of astrology on this site is about the “Tropical” lines Cancer, Capricorn and The Equator. The Equator is counted once as the earth tilts south towards the Tropic of Capricorn and once as the earth tilts north going back to the Tropic of Cancer.

One we reach The Equator again ,spring begins as we past the North EAST point of the globe. The days get longer as the sun tilts north and the sun appears to rise higher in the sky each day at NOON.

Saturn Rules Capricorn and Aquarius: Capricorn Saturn starts the winter in the Northern Hemisphere
I say APPEAR because you know it is all an optical illusion.
Earth is about 25,000 Miles Diameter spinning at about 1,000 miles an hour giving us days of 24 hours (23 hours 56 minutes).
She is flying around the sun at about 67,000 miles an hour while The Sun is moving somewhere in the neighborhood of 470,000-490,000 miles per hour around the galaxy itself takes the sun about 225 million years to do ONE LAP AROUND THE GALAXY.
Our Earth precesses (goes backwards) through the zodiac at a rate of 2160 (An “Age”) years per zodiac sign or 25,920 years for one “galactic” or “great” year.
Remember, this page is a salad bar. Take what you want and leave what you don’t want. Please remember that I always encourage everyone to do their own research. Challenge everything I share. I am an eternal student.
The real value in education FOR ME, comes from the journey of education, not the institutions that have convinced many that the “established” authorities are the only “authority.”
Take 25,920 and divide into four seasons and you get 6480. According to esoteric sources the last 6480 years we have been in the dark/winter part of the earth's precessional cycle. Divide that great year of 25,920 into 12 and you get 2160. So the Age of Pisces is ending and the Age of Aquarius is beginning. (1 degree equals 72 years, so we are actually on the "cusp" starting 12-21-12 PST at 3:12 am) Although it is the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, according to our "great year" we are entering the Spring....the enlightenment or ?"The Age of Aquarius."? Aquarius is about placing the emphasis on humanity's coexistence with others and symbiotic existence with nature. It is the opposite of Leo where consciousness is more centered on the self, Aquarian consciousness is supposed to be inclusive. It counts our differences and diversity as an asset!"
